How This Started
My workout routine began at a small gym near 12 Rue des Fitness in Paris. It wasn't flawless, yet it was reachable, affordable, and it helped me establish consistency.
After that place shut, I saw how rapidly the fitness landscape in France was changing. New clubs emerged, fresh concepts appeared, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.
I began testing various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Over time those notes evolved into this site, created to help others make more informed choices.
My Approach to Reviews
Each review here arises from actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I concentrate on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.
When I review a fitness center, I typically:
- Dedicate enough time to grasp routines, peak times, and typical patterns
- Visit on various days and at different times
- Experiment with multiple training formats and coaches
- Regularly use the amenities to assess cleanliness and comfort
- Speak with other members about what stays consistent and what does not
- Take notes right after each visit
I revise reviews when major changes occur: renovations, management changes, price adjustments, or new facilities. Each article displays its last update date so you know how current the information remains.
What I Look For
My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when assessing a fitness center:
Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?
Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do issues get fixed promptly?
Crowd Management: Can you train during your preferred times without constant waiting?
Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.
Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.
Beyond the Gym
Outside of training and writing, I reside and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness choices and make them more transparent for those seeking the right setting.
